The Iso work fie except the problem of the snipping tool that don't work also if the flag remain "unflagged". There a way to leave intact with the tablet pc like windows7. 2.13gb iso and 4.8gb installed without the pagefile. In the next time i will try to rename shot the name of the iso and i see if the problem of the incorrect folder disappear.

I'm really happy to announce I created a 100% working 1.18 GB ISO with .NET Framework 3.5 successfully integrated  . Took me like 3 hours to do it last night but I'm happy with the results . I'm experiencing the "Other user" issue though :\. I'll have to figure how to solve that out today. I will also try to reduce both WIM files size, because I think they can be reduced even further. Especially the boot.wim file.

Maybe I'll try vLite…

I've tried vLite before, it doesn't work with windows 8.1

Sure that can't work. Is only for vista and may be seven.

vLite works perfectly for Windows 7. I hope I can make it work for Windows 8. Also, does somebody know how to fix the "Other user" problem?

Yeah, Vista, 7 and 8 work good, only 8.1 doesn't work (BSOD) 

Hi all,nice program just wanted to add that i reduced my windows 8.1 iso with these settings but when i click on PC settings in charm bar nothing happens.

I removed lots of stuff and found out the sticky notes won't work anymore. It's hard to tell what's the cause and I think it's a minor, but I wanted to let you know. (problem is on both x86 and x64)

I think because remain present only a link but the app is removed. May be?

What exactly did you remove?

Perhaps post the components/features you removed, and we can work from there.

I solved the "Other user" issue with a vLite unattended file, lol. Dunno how that worked, but it did.

Winter, could you please add the "COM+ Event System" service to WinReducer? It is a very useless piece of crap (at least for us normal Windows users. I guess it is useful for developers or system maintainers). Removing this service would directly remove the "System Events Notification Service" (useless crap as well) and the "Background Intelligent Transfer Service" (which is useful only if you use Windows Update, which I don't, lol). Please, please .

Also, I noticed that the Search tab from the Folder Options dialog is still there even though I removed Windows Search. Is that fixable?




So, anyway, now that I have the "Other user" issue sorted out, I will venture myself into the Windows 8.1 world of WinSxS and see what malevolent free space-eating crap I can cut there.

i made a new reduced iso with a user (not an admin normal user)
after installation i cant change him from normal user to Administrator. after clicking again at option to get to change it it says again normal user (the same after restart)

i also get an error when i wanna make a new user :



it apears right after setting a name for the new user and clicking Next button

--> control panel --> user configuration (dont know how its called in english) --> click on manage new user ---> and than this option



if i click on it nothing happens

Winter, I've found another problem. I run (yes, as administrator) WinReducer and I try to mount a 64-bit Windows 8.1 Pro N (I also use this OS as host) from a folder. It starts to do it, and when it finishes, it stops doing anything. No CPU activity. No disk activity. It just stops. It is irritating as hell. And, yes, I have all of the external software properly installed in their latest 32-bit versions (7-Zip 9.32, ImageX and OSCDIMG from the Windows 8.1 AIK, Resource Hacker 3.6.0, and SetACL 3.0.6). Do I need to have the 64-bit versions of the external software? Is this just a WinReducer bug? Could you PLEASE, PLEASE check? I am so annoyed I won't be able to do more test images because of this problem  . I hope you can check it before the vein in my head pops out.

Hey, I have this problem too, both Pro N x64 and Enterprise N x64, but Enterprise x64 works good. I think it's something about permission error. Can u try this please, put Winreducer folder to another drive that's not windows drive and try again. I can't do it because my HDD is being out of space now.  
Btw, can u please upload your lastest version of ImageX.exe & oscdimg.exe? I can't find it on the internet. Thanks

For the mounting troubles, I've tried and it worked for me with a Windows 8.1 PRO N x64 :


You could try to move the WinReducer 8.1 folder to your account folder (C:\USERS\%your_username%) wher you will definitively get all writes access, but mrpotter is right the better choice is to avoid the c:\ drive and use another hdd or partition (=avoid the system partition)

@mrpotter2510: no need, you could easily download them using the link provided in the readme.pdf (http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/156869-get-waik-tools-wo-loading-the-huge-isos/) and use this great software !

Hey a bug i found i think, when you have only one instance to reduce WinReducer just fails with frame work error.

Seems you can't select a instance when only one choice is available like Windows 8.1 x64 so mount fails at the end with .net error.

I placed the WinReducer folder and the ISO in a non C:\ drive.



Didn't work.

Is it a VL edition ?
