WinReducer 8.1 (Old discussion)

Hi, I'm trying to use winreducer on my windows 8.1 but it says that my copy is a windows upgrade copy.. any workaround for this? If not, there should be an option to use winreducer even for upgrade versions.. (i install it from bios, not from windows, though, i downloaded a copy from the Internet as i have a valid serial)

winreducer not support some screen resolution ... i have AMD processor via chome graphics ... when i set 1152*864 mode many tab disappear .. on system tab  driver .net 3.5 browser tab gone  of screen ....            

update manu need stop or close button cause if we need to stop download update or stop it we need to close winreducer  that lost all work

i have completed a lite version of my win 8.1 enterprise, i removed some components, but now FRAMEWORK 3.5 don't can be installed (error 0x80073712)

I always see it in RC1. And this is my Wccf

@YubiGalaxy Try this Autounattend.xml file. It should solve your problem. Don't ask how.

As far as I know, the *.esd file can't be easily mounted under windows, and also that they are not complete version, so even if we reduce it, your system will need a complete system installed. But if someone has new informations about this I will have an interesting look on this ....

Did you remove necessary components taken from WinReducer Database (LINK) ?
* NET Framework 3.5 (GUI)
   - "Accessories - Windows Features"
   - "Accessories - Windows Features On Demand User Experience (FONDUE)"
   - "Services - Windows Updates"

The only option if you want to use your original disk is to use my tutorial here. Currently there is no tool that can decrypt the install.esd file.
Once you capture the installation, you can delete the install.esd file and replace it with the new install.wim.

Thats what I always do. Every month or so, I start up the Virtual installation to update it or tweak it, capture it, and reduce it with Winreducer. Easy peasy

i check the three files, and i don't removed theme, but i stilll have the same error: it download the framework, but then don't install it.

i saw that if i go to folder c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework, i don't have folder 3.0 and 3.5.
I don't know why if i try to install framework 3.5 , i't can be installed, gave me error 0x80070032

leom81, I confirm the winreducer bug, it will be fixed for RC2 ...

@loem81: Made some tests and it seems the error, I experienced, is not a bug but only some missing components needed for "Windows Updates Service". I will made a new test with your wccf file.

When you use an unattended file to add your serial number, WinReducer will automatically activate Windows with it. But starting from RC2, the activation will not be automatic. You need to activate it by checking "Unattended – Activate Auto Activation”. Otherwise it will not be automatically activated.

I thought of one thing: if you find out which elements should not be removed for the framework to work properly, it might be useful to introduce the winreducer a tick, with which one can be sure that the framework is installed correctly, what do you think?

@leom81: Just finished testing and it's working for me with your wccf file. It seems you tried to integrate framework 3.5 to iso, so take care about the path you use, is it the good one ? Or try to remove the folder x64 in framework folder, then mount the same exact complete ISO to copy all framework files in a new folder.
You could also try to customize your ISO without integrating net framework 3.5. And in a 2nd time, remount this new customized ISO, and integrate net framework 3.5.

it is true that I had tried to integrate the framework, but I did so to see if the problem is solved, that is, even without integrating framework, however, then it did not work.

however, if I want to create a lite iso without the integrated framework, then just install it after installing the operating system, even after the operating system is installed, if you try to install a program that requires the framework 3, should automatically download and install it.

Yes because i renamed the winreducer folder.
So when rc2 will be released, i will make a custom iso with the same wccf but WITHOUT integrated framework.
To solve the problem, have you introduced something new in this rc2?
