There is always the newest version to download.

BTW, skydrive seems to have been removed succesfully. Is this an intended change, and if so shouldn't it be in the changelog? I have only tested it on a VM.

i removed sky drive on mine but the start screen app was still there also found that removing it caused issues with explorer, ie i could create a new folder but couldn't rename it.

Though it could be because i'm using an iso with the upcoming update 1 where they've renamed it to onedrive.

I don't know whether this is a bug or not, so I'll report it here. I removed all keyboards with winreducer, but I find that many files for foreign language keyboards still exist in the winsxs folder, as well as the manifests subfolder of winsxs. Searching for the keyword 'keyboard' in winsxs folder should show them all. Searching for 'korean' shows the folder and files for korean language keyboard, and so on.

Shouldn't these be removed?

Hi waldi84.
You need to use the following structure:

e.g. c:\Winreducer
not c\Folder with space\Winreducer

Check if the folder where your windows iso is located does not have spaces in its name:

e.g. c:\Windows 8.1 ISO => bad
e.g. c:\Windows8.1ISO => good

You must make sure not to have any space in the names. They must be one word names.

Although I did not remove the winsat tool, I cannot run winsat on my reduced system. When I try to run it using command prompt, I get the error message that wmasf.dll is missing. I downloaded that file from the internet, but I still get the same message. Something in winreducer is breaking winsat.

@all : I'm working hard on WinReducer 7.0, and I've also tested a new removing engine with full success because the necessary time has been reduced by 72% !!!! I will update WinReducer 8.1 with this new removing engine in the future .... Very Happy

1) Yes, I used "presets - protect imp files".
2) I removed "multimedia - DVD playback" and "multimedia - codec - Indeo5". (Indeo5 is the only codec I removed.)
3) I also removed "windows media player" and "windows media center".

I had reported this issue on the bugs as well as help threads, but since it seems to have gone unnoticed, I am reporting it here:

I am unable to rename any folder after installing windows with update 1 integrated. I used v1.05 to integrate update 1. I have not removed anything that I did not remove with previous versions. This is the first time I am getting such an error. I know that it is not the "disable 8.3 filename creation" that is responsible, but I have no idea what is. Another user also reported the same issue. In fact he started the thread in the help section.

Another issue I am noticing is that with this v1.05, the last DISM operation (the one that happens after windows is installed) takes a very long time. I think it is the winsxs cleanup, but I am not sure about that. It never took so long with the previous versions. I selected all the optimizations except the one that deletes winPE, and the "expert" ones.

I will release a new build at the end of the week, with new components to remove and a big update for "Features" cleanup improvements ... I've also started to add support for the new removing engine ! All "Features", "Modern UI Apps" and "Accessories" have been updated and with 1st tests I made, the removing speed is here !

Hello Winterstorm, I notice Windows 8.1 Update 1 ISO won't work, I mean the official iso with the update 1 integrated. The preset page will have the pop up "You have previously removed some components .... not guaranteed" and the other pages for removing components are grayed out.. The iso is original, not corrupt, I even try to install the untouched iso to verify it has nothing to do with the iso..

I download from ms. download page new update files after copy the update folder , but not added this image file, only update list files of 04.2014. database. Thank you for your help.

Don't worry Windows 8.1 Update 1 ISOs are supported ! This message is normal, because WinReducer detects some missing components in your ISO, such as example a "Windows N Edition" do not have "Windows Media Player" : so WinReducer informs you that some files can't be protected by some "Protect Presets".
To be sure to have a original ISO of Windows 8.1 U1 from MS, you need to check SHA-1 values to identify if your ISO has not been modify. If you need help, I could create a tutorial on how to get all correct information. Just let me know ! Very Happy

I'm working on it to rework it, because Microsoft has informed that in June 2014 if you do not have Update 1 integrated, in your ISO, you will receive no Updates for your system; so I need to adapt the WR Updates Catog to this. Don't worry it will be available tomorrow ! Very Happy

Winterstorm, The problem is, the whole feature page is grey out, can't do anything about it.. This is official MSDN 8.1 update 1 iso!
