I actually have a HP printer. If I remove the printer drivers, will it still work?

I hope not ! Normally, it won't work, but I don't test it yet...

@theKramer back up ur specific printer driver by any driver backup utilities then remover all hp printer driver and add ur allredy backup driver from driver add part of winreducer i do same for my wireless driver ex. ur printer HP 1000 laser then back it by driver magician then remove all hp driver and then add it by driver adding part ....

Just to recap as its a little hard understand your English. Sorry, dont mean to be mean
1. I use a driver backup utility to backup HP printer drivers
2. When creating a new stripped ISO, I add the drivers backup in the drivers section of WinReducer
3. All good

What "free" driver backup utility do you recommend?

Is this one any good?

That's planned in the next release my friend. I'm working on it and it's OK, but it will be too short to add this in WinReducer v0.39 (Alpha).

A question just to be sure: if we remove printer drivers with WinReducer 8, we can still use printers if we provide our own drivers? Just asking because on other slimming programs in the past, removing printer drivers would remove support for printing completely, even if you would install specific printer drivers. Thanks

I've tried while removing all printers drivers and integrate mine, it works but need more tests in different environments.

Few hours left now, during this time I will integrate some new tweaks shared by Fafal and theKramer in this excellent thread : " Tips & Tricks for Windows 8 ".

Winter, could you also add this tweak since it is very usefull for netbook or smaller screens.

Hi Winter.
On installing:
1. It asks for the OS to install even if I only have Windows 8 Pro image on the disk. Any way to stop it asking what windows version we want to install?
2. It also asks to confirm the "Software License Agreement". Can you add that to the AutoUnatttend.xml

Finally, a third query, when selecting the driver folder, does WR search all sub-directories?

1) and 2) Normally there are options in "Unattend - Boot and Windows Setup". Or I misunderstood what you asked ...
3) Yes, you just need to choose the parent directory.

I selected those, but it doesnt hide those screens for me
By the way, absolutely PHENOMENAL work. My new ISO is 260MB smaller than the previous version

Thats 1.4GB removed from the original ISO

I will release an intermediate build v0.39.1 in 2 days that fix some of the bugs.
