WinReducer 8 - v0.39.9.99.00 (alpha) - 2013.04.10 (Work In Progress)

Still thank you for a excellent program for customizing and reducing win8 install - anyway i'm still missing the feature to convert 8Pro to 8ProWMC - any chance this gonna happen or are planned for future releases?

tried many times but no luck
any ideas

Thanks so much for these new versions. It is ok for the little I've tested
I'm still waiting, before I put under Windows 8, be able to delete more components. When it will be possible to remove some of them




For now, I stay with WIndows 7

Sorry to hear that, but you could try to restart from scratch ... Delete your winreducer folder then extract zip package in a new folder ... Are you using an antivirus ? Or try with a new complete installation to see if that error comes with your installation ?

i tried all this but its the same result the win dont go under 2.6 gb with every thing removed

In options page do you have all software lines in green color ?

i run it always as admin
i made every thing

Finally i found the problem
it was SetACL i copied apps folder from old version
but when i copied version 3.0.6.0 from winreducer8_v0.39.4.99.2 its all ok

i have same problem i tested 4 time same result . and why u stop pack 3 rd party software ... i think u have repack it

windows 8 RTM enterprise 32 bit 2.45gb ... my ISO 1.17 gb .... and wim 0.99 gb ...

Impressive ! And I will add more components after the public release of v0.40 (alpha) ... So it will be even smaller ....

Sorry, havent been testing that much
Tried the latest build, and got my wim down to 1.4GB from 3.05GB, with all drivers integrated I am reducing Win 8 x64 Pro

Few questions/points to make:

1. About printer drivers, which I may have asked already, if I remover HP printer functionality, but integrate my HP drivers, will the HP printer still work?

2. Also, why are there two checkboxes for HP printers in the printer section.

3. I still get asked to accept EULA and software license agreement in the installation process.

4. I also still get that blue os choice intall screen. Tested only on VBox.

No worries my friend ...

1 - Normally no, but this needs to be confirm...
2 - 1 for printers and 1 for scanner
3 - I can't reproduce that bug
4 - Never had this on my machine or on VMware Player ... In the next days I will proceed to a fresh installation on my PC to test and based on the 1st v0.40 build that could be released at the end of the week ... So I'll keep you in touch.

The latest 3.0.6 is the one to use, you could find it in the "v0.39.4.99.1" zip package on this thread...

for me it's still not working. made a new build with the same settings as always and my wim file is 2.8gb, while in the past it was 2.2gb! what's wrong???

I hope the NET Framework bug is sorted out in the upcoming release.. I integrated all my updates and office 2013 in my iso (i used sysprep mode, no external software) and everything worked fine.. then i used winreducer to slim down my iso and NET Framework got broken.. if I try to launch an application (for example ccenhancer, try it, it is an executable) it gives me error.. At first I thought it was a problem with the part of winreducer in which you choose to remove unneeded files from the iso and reduce boot.wim size, but then I tried withouth selecting those things and it gave me the same error.. I hope this helps to solve the problem!

Normally it should be resolved, it works for me with all components removed in VMware Player ...

EDIT : it works with v0.39.4.99.12, have you tried with this build ?

Confirmed, it was not removed, thanks for the feedback, I will improve that in a v0.39.9.99.0 build, that I will release tomorrow ...
