Did anyone try to reduce an image with updates integrated?

description[ANSWERED] WinReducer doesn't work with slipstreamed Windows EmptyRe: [ANSWERED] WinReducer doesn't work with slipstreamed Windows

Yes, it fails. I asked this in another thread.

hey i updated my windows iso till july 2015 and reduced it without problems (with winreducer 1.1.6.0)

so maybe its a problem with an updates which was released in August, or maybe a bug in 1.1.7.0 / 1.1.8.0

you mean to remove stuff from your current OS that you use?

if thats the question: winreducer cant reduce a live system

description[ANSWERED] WinReducer doesn't work with slipstreamed Windows EmptyRe: [ANSWERED] WinReducer doesn't work with slipstreamed Windows

more_horiz
No, I am saying that WinReducer can be run from live Windows?
Live Windows is a portable version of Windows, which can be run directly from CD/DVD or USB drive without installation.

Hi everyone!
I had opened a new thread: https://forum.winreducer.net/t1505-error-windows-setup-cannot-configure-one-or-more-components,
in which I asked about a setup error. The same I had when I tried to install the updated image slimmed with WinReducer.
And I found that...
The problem is in the Game features!
After removing all the games, setup showed no errors.
Now I have to try with the updated image.

Ok I tried again to reduce a slipstreamed image and received the same error (Windows cannot process component blabla...).
In conclusion, with the same configuration file:
-Win7x64sp1 with no updates is ok
-Win7x64sp1 with updates is not ok (error)

KrX, do you still have the configuration file you used?
I can make some reverse engineering...

Off-topic.
WinReducer EX-70 v1.1.8.0 seems to have a bug. I can't create iso image (memory error).
I don't have pagefile on ssd.
It works on hdd.

ok here is my wccf file which works for me

http://www1.zippyshare.com/v/XY65ExmY/file.html

like i said it works with version 1.1.6.0 (not tested with 1.1.7.0 and 1.1.8.0)

Hi KrX,

i've tested (Integrated Updates ONLY) with "v1.1.8.0" and it work, but when slimmingdown with v1.1.7.0 and v1.1.8.0 get error:
"... unexpectedly exited or terminated."
Technical information: *** STOP: 0x000000F4. ?

so, i tested (Integrated Updates Manually) with "DiSM.v10.0.10240.16384" then slimmingdown with "v1.1.8.0", it work !

*) may be (i've read) that WinReducer seem NOT WORK, if integrated (slipstreamed) updates and slimmingdown Windows separately ?

i think your "wccf file" seem not for commonly used (suitable) in regular working OS (to extreme) !
here is my "wccf file": "https://mega.nz/#!i51ByAqD!"

so it does not work when you integrate (with winreduer) the same updates that you integrate with DISM ?
than thats clearly a bug.

yes my wccf file  removes a lot Razz

Downloaded your wccf to see what you remove.
I slimmed down integrated Windows 7 (original size is 3.4Gb, after reducing it is about 1.69Gb) with latest WinReducer.

Ok, I'm really confused now Smile

I have my Windows 7 HomePremium sp1 x64 and I decide to integrate all security, non security, ie11, wmp12, netfx 3.5 post sp1 updates.
I use DISM (version 6.1.7600.16385 available on my system).
After I have seen KrX crazy config file I don't think mine was the problem Smile
Now I read home7ech's post and I believe I have two alternatives:
1: Update DISM (I don't know how... where can I download new version?)
2: Integrate updates directly in WinReducer (again, I don't know how... it didn't work on reduced wim); maybe it works only on original image?

for 2:

yes you should always integrate updates before you reduce your iso.

the order should be like this:

original iso -> integrate updates -> reduce/make customization -> integrate drivers -> finished iso

Ok, do you mean integrate updates, save and restart WinReducer or all in the same session?

you could do it step by step, but you also could  do it in one go. winreducer should also do the steps like this "updates integrate - reduce - integrate driver"

but you shouldnt integrate updates on an reduced iso, this could cause a bluescreen while installing, and also some updates will fail while integrating into a reduced system

I don't know, maybe I'm doing something wrong...
I load windows image in WinReducer, I go to System Tab, browse to .msu security updates folder and apply.
The process is too fast and after it completed the image has the same size. Surprised

description[ANSWERED] WinReducer doesn't work with slipstreamed Windows EmptyRe: [ANSWERED] WinReducer doesn't work with slipstreamed Windows

why dont you copy the updates to

WinReducerEX70\WORK\INTEGRATE\UPDATES\x64\Updates  (or x86\Updates)

after  that select the x86 or x64 folder at System tab.

im not really sure, but if it didnt work how you did it could could try doing it like this. worked for me at winreducer 10

description[ANSWERED] WinReducer doesn't work with slipstreamed Windows EmptyRe: [ANSWERED] WinReducer doesn't work with slipstreamed Windows

The answer is no.
It cannot integrate updates.

description[ANSWERED] WinReducer doesn't work with slipstreamed Windows EmptyRe: [ANSWERED] WinReducer doesn't work with slipstreamed Windows

It seems like WinReducer EX-70 only supports some kind of updates (SP1, IE11).

hm i thought it was only the download of updates via winreducer update tool (SP1 and IE11).

so we will Need to wait for winter, he should know the right answer Smile

Hi,

there also is a problem with integration in EX-100 in other threads.
I think, its a general problem with integration in all EX products.
Hope winterstorm will find a solution.

Uhm... these are bad news.
If it cannot integrate updates, probably it cannot reduce updated images.
This is not an easy task for WinterStorm. Mad

Well, it seems WinterStorm is focused on Win10 by now. Sad
