[IMPLEMENTED] replacing files

i want to change some files e.g shelbrd, basebrd.dll under windows/branding and some more files. How i can do this? Thanks

dear winterstorm2050,  these are some files i want to replace with my custom files:

1) spwizimg.dll
2) spwizres.dll
Location: in Windows 7 ISO above files are located in "sources folder"

3) basebrd.dll 
Location: on installed Windows "C:\Windows\Branding\Basebrd"

4) basebrd.dll.mui
Location: on installed Windows
"C:\Windows\Branding\Basebrd\en-US"

5) shellbrd.dll
Location: on installed Windows
"C:\Windows\Branding\ShellBrd"

i tried to use WinReducer for Win7 many times, unfortunately i am never succeeded, every time i powered off the PC, 
today i created a very tiny Win 7 ISO (618MB) with it, i hope it will work well for me.
the question is that; it taken more than 2.30 hours for completion, the removing process takes huge time. i am using HP PC, 2.8 GHz Intel xeon CPU, 2GB RAM, 
what it is my PC? which is too slow for this program?

and what compression method you used for making install.wim? high or low?

i think the compression is set to high for install.wim

for me removing all components takes ~1hour on a 2.2Ghz dual core i3 with 8gb ram. but i use a SSD notebook.

Also installing my tiny 701 mb x64 iso takes me from an usb3 and my SSD (from the step where i format my SSD) to the step "ready to use" 7.35 mins

and im talking on installing it on my live system not a virtual machine

Yes, CPU speed is one of the best factor to get more speed ... but it's not the only one !

There are several domains which could improve your removing speed ...
- CPU speed : newest generation are faster than older
- RAM quantity : more is better
- HDD : a SSD is better
- HDD fragmentation : a fragmented HDD will slow down a lot your removing speed !
- Antivirus : deactivate it temporary, will increase the speed

So, based on your commentary and according to the "Passmark CPU Mark" : your CPU (Intel Xeon 2.80GHz) is really slow : 431 pts. (An actual Celeron G1840 has a "Passmark CPU Mark" of : 2897 pts !)

My point is that, your CPU is a good cpu for your everyday use, but unfortunately for using WinReducer it is a slow CPU (compared to newest ones) ... but don't worry there will be many optimizations in the future to improve removing speed !

as my experience WinReducer is the No.1 utility for Windows setup customization. a good thing is that its totally free.

there is any option in WinReducer to change the name of Windows installation drive?

it is possible to delete some folders or files manually from the mounted folder of WinReducer?

About removing speed, in v3.03 you will notice an important removing speed, but only if you try to use "Optimizations - EXPERT - Winsxs  Folder Cleanup" !

I was able to remove all components in the "Remover" tab (= Accessories, Control Panels, ...), except all "Optimizations" : in approximatively 3 minutes ! I think that KrX will appreciate this improvement ...

But there are still some components which are slow down the process, but only because they are not upgraded yet to the NEW REMOVING ENGINE ... they will be progressively migrated to it in the next builds ....

in customization tab, i see .NET optimization, what it does? my some software required .NET, what it does break the ability of their installation or working?

1) No, there is no possibility to change the Windows Installation drive name in WinReducer

2) You are talking about the "Remover" tab with "Optimizations" components which includes "EXPERT" options ? I am right ? Take care if you really need Net Framework tools, to DO NOT remove "EXPERT - Net Framework Folder Cleanup" because this will completely remove the Net Framework functionality to your installed system !
