Winreducer Results

Hey Guys & Winterstorm, what is the record to reduce Windows as small as possible with Winreducer?

Here are my results when I finished (manual removal by hand) my Micro Edition last year for Windows 7 SP1 x64 Ultimate (US-English).

My ISO: 529 MB
boot.wim: 41,6 MB
install.wim: 484 MB

Windows installed: 1,4 GB
300 MB RAM Usage and 25 Processes running...

with 400 Windows Updates integrated my ISO became 593 MB...

So tell me the records for Winreducer and your own personal for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and now Windows 10!

P.S I only made it for Windows 7 , I didn't have any interest for Windows 8/8.1 because it is a tablet OS

- install.wim: 409 MB

--> WinReducer 8.1 - v1.22 - MICRO EDITION wccf - Windows 8.1 Update 1 x64 Professional (FR-French) :
- My ISO: 894 MB
- boot.wim: 175 MB
- install.wim: 713 MB

To be clear, this Micro Edition Project, is in an experimental stage ... so this is only for testing purpose !

OK, so this is really simple how I've tested this :
- Select to remove all "Features"
- Select to remove all components in the "Remover" tab
- Select to remove all "Services"
- Configure the "Unattended" tab if you want
- Then "APPLY" your settings
- Save your ISO or WIM

--> That's all you have to do !

EDIT : the size could depend on your ISO language.

in the end we get option for wim or ISO, what is this wim?

Yes, you will get this option to save your changes in an ISO or in WIM files !

A WIM file is the file format, used by Microsoft, to install Windows 7, 8.0, 8.1 and 10.0. Like a "*.txt" file contains some text.

you can find this wim file at the source folder from your iso.

there are 2 .wim files

boot.wim and install.wim

boot.wim is used when you want to install your windows
install.wim contains all files and folder that will be installed on your hard drive

@faheem5- you can made your own, it is not so difficult, as Admin said you. And discuss more here,

-Win 8.1 Pro x86 with updates till 11/11/2014 ISO size 3.40GB. -after reducing final iso size is only 1.06GB. Installation taken less than 9 minutes on the 1Gb RAM, 1.8GHz C2D CPU. Installed Windows is only using 2.2GB space without pagefile. (having issues for .NET).

Hi, can you share your config? I want create a micro iso but if I remove all feautures, component ecc windows say after installation "can't boot in this computer (translated in italian, i don't know what appear in english)"

Hello,

This micro edition is by definition in a really alpha experimental stage, so no wccf file are provided yet to avoid many troubles.

I've tested this by removing all components available (on a French ISO) and it worked not in a real environment but on a VMware Player Virtual machine, with only "Presets - Protect VMware Player and Workstation" selected.

About your error, could you please tell us which WinReducer Software version are you using, and it could be possibly due to a missing driver (Amd processor, chipset driver, ...)
