[SOLVED] WinReducer 1.18 Updates and removal not applied, settings not stored

I download updates with WinReducer, check that I set the right folder, but on the newly installed OS I still need to perform a lot of updates (update 1 and around 45 other updates).
Also a lot of stuff (maybe all?) is not removed. For instance I remove IE11 except for the core components.
This is since 1.17 (have nto tried 1.16).

Also settings are not saved in presets (a long time, prior to 1.15):
Work Search(Disabled)
Work Folders (Remove)
Removal:
Control Panel, Indexing (both options checked)
Drivers: HD audio, USB Video(?), USB Audio
One Drive
Tweaks, Take ownership
Work Folders service (Remove)

It seems that none of the Updates of the WinReducer Catalog have been integrated : are you sure to use the good Updates Catalog = x86 for Windows x86 (32 bits) or x64 for Windows 64 bits ?

About the removing troubles : have you chosen "Protect presets" ? Because these presets automatically protects all necessary files or entire WinReducer Components, to preserve the functionality you want to keep in Windows.

--> EXAMPLE : you activate "Presets - Protect Windows Search" : you are not able to remove :
    - "Features - Windows Search"
    - "Accessories - Natural Languages"
        . File : "Windows\System32\NaturalLanguage6.dll"
        . File : "Windows\System32\NlsData0009.dll"
        . File : "Windows\System32\NlsLexicons0009.dll"
    - "Control Panels - Indexing Options"
    - "Control Panels - Indexing Options (Files)"
    - "Languages - English (en-GB)"
        . File : "Windows\System32\prm0009.dll"
    - "Services - Windows Indexing Service"

I am sure I use the x64-updates (and have Windows 8 Pro x64). I will get back on the the other point next week (and upload my preset).

I used 1.18 on Windows 1.18 Professional x64, here are my comments:
Updates (I select all except those under Microsoft .NET 3.5):
Old silverlight update remains in Integatrate directory
KB2934520 (413MB) remained in Updates (depricated?)

Mounting:
Framework35 is created under Updates after mounting. Is this also being used?

Loading profile (settings not the same as previous session):
Presets:  Optimize ISO Size is not enabled
Features: Windows Search is not set to disabled
          Work Folders is not set to disabled
Remover:  Under Control Panel Indexing Options, Indexing Options (Files) are not selected
          Under Drivers Support - HD Audio, USB Audio, USB Video are not selected
          Under Network Onedrive is not selected
          Under Tweaks Context Menu - Add Take Ownership (with pause) is not selected
Services: Work Folder Services is not set to Remove
          What is the difference between the empty setting and "-"?

I am pretty sure (but not completely) save to Wimfile was set to on, but I get the screen with ISO File creator (Save in Wim or ISO).

Removing Speed possible in profile as well? Now I need to set it to High everytime.
Maybe nice to have an additional setting Optimal so that it uses the detected amount of CPU's/threads?

if yes try a clean winreducer "install", start after that winreducer and click on the names of i.e. 7zip to download them.

maybe you uses 64 bit software (7zip etc) before that why it didnt work

Yes I always used x64 versionss of 7-Zip (from the start). I have not had the chance to test recent builds, but the issues with settings has never been resolved, I would need to look into it again when I have the time.

The Settings not saved issue still persists.
So when saving a preset or loading it these are always the ones i have to set manually.


The following settings are not saved:
Presets - Database Information
Optimize iso size

Features:
Work Folders
Windows Search

Services:
App Readiness
Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) Service
Windows Firewall Service
Windows Store Service
Windows Update Service
Windows Defender Service (loads but doesn't save selection)

Manually editing the preset file with the correct values, doesn't get passed through either when loading it. So there's a bug in reading these entries too.

A few other WCCF Issues:

From what i can see in the wccf file, its seems you've switched from using Selected="ok" to "true" and some parts  (mostly features section) are still using the old.

I would suggested sticking to true/false throughout

Using latest version alot of the issues are still there.

Presets options aren't being saved or loaded correctly.

Drivers > Hyper-V Controller
Network > OneDrive

WinReducer EX-81 - v1.2.3.0 updates didnt integrates, its just says error in log. so i replaced 2 7z files in x64 folder and everything goes ok. but strange, net 4.6 integrates perfectly even without this, so im confused )

Same thing happend to me today.

the updates were not integrated.

EDIT: i correct myself!! Its working. After running the update Tool, the path is not given!

Solution
You have to manually enter the path or just copy and paste it.

i correct mistake by replacing the 7z files from 64x version 7z1506-x64. may be app installed 32x by mistake, i don't know. anyway its a baby bug, strange to see it in such old app.

if you get this problems you would be good to redownload all tools at -> Options -> Configuration -> Software installation. Switch all apps to ON and check the Force download box and hit download

that will update all software.

also it seems your wccf files are outdated. since winter changed some names and changed the values stored at your wccf files.
so what you could do is load your wccf file and choose everything you want to do (which wasnt loaded correctly) after that save that wccf file and use this one onwards.

also dont forget to use the latest version of winreducer
