no it didnt work (i need to say removing step by step i.e. first features than components etc works sometimes, but removing everything at once i get this problem)

it looks like at boot.wim it didnt remove anything from WinSxS. There are still 1209 folders in it.

at install.wim there is an folder at the root (next to Windows folder etc) named EXPERIMENTAL and in it there are all the files that need to be at WinSxS.
and at WinSxS there are 3 folder:

so maybe its an permission problem? because this 3 folders could be removed ?

i just tried again version 2.99.6.0 (downloaded from the mainpage) and at install.wim And boot.wim the "EXPERIMENTAL" folder moved from "%root%" to "%root%\Windows\WinSxS\"

next to this Experimental folder there where some other folders:

install.wim:

hey i tested it with version 3.0 RC

after reducing the winsxs folder and compressing the winsxs folder looks like that

the winsxs folder contains still 1 folder that can be deleted. an next to the windows, user etc folders, "*mount_path*\EXPERIMENTAL" is still present.

after winreducer is finished, the files are still at "*mount_path*\EXPERIMENTAL\"

the winsxs folder at boot.wim still contains ALL folders

it looks like @install.wim, winreducer forgets or cant delete all folders that are not needed at winsxs, and than something fails to copy the correct folders from EXPERIMENTAL to winsxs

EDIT:

it also compressed that one folder shown on the picture, the folders at EXPERIMENTAL arent compressed

hey i tried version v3.00 (RC5)

and now i dont have any EXPERIMENTAL folder. and at winsxs (install.wim) are the following folders:

but when useing this option now with version RC5 the experimental folder moved to

C:\Users\KrX\Desktop\WinReducer70\WORK\MOUNT\EXPERIMENTAL

and at the WinSxS folder there are still 3 folders left.

but now when i copy the content of the experimental folder to winsxs i get this error during installation

also is something new. the experimental folder contains a lot of reg files now. but the regkeys look like that:

"[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\WR8_Software\....."

it seems the reg files should be for windows 8.1 or? (WR8_Software)

Yes, I discover a big bug with your last post (.reg) so it will be solved in the RC6 ! I don't think that solved your initial trouble but who knows ... Smile

Just an information : I've successfully created a "WinReducer x86 ISO" with a size of 441 Mb ! And installation has reached : 1.05 Gb !

And the work is not finished !

i dont know if i posted it earlier. but i get the feeling that it always happens when i want to remove everything at once or some components together with this option.

when i just use this option + compression it works (need to test it further)
