Hi Winterstorm

I have very loud noice when installing  the Virtual Audio cable onto a Winreduced iso,
even when nothing is installed the  both meters give a lot of signal input
i started installing audio  this evening and  to be sure i tested onto 3  Winreduced isos
Windows 10 v19041 x64 Home N EN-US.ISO 4,749,381,632 05/27/2020 19:06 -a--
Windows 10 v19041 x64 Home EN-US.ISO 4,990,302,208 05/27/2020 19:55 -a--
both  upp versions &
the original  Win10_2004_English_x64.iso 5,268,953,088 05/28/2020 00:19 -a-- from the Microsoft server.
Tomorrow i will do a test with the original 1909 windows 10 from the Microsoft server to
be sure that it is not a bug in the Windows 10 v 2004h1  version .

Hi Winterstorm

This is not a bug

Virtual Audio cable is working onto all Windows 10 versions exept  Windows 10 v 2004h1
Virtual Audio cable works  normal onto my Winreduced Windows 10 1909 Home that wa s winreduced with WinReducer EX-100 - v2.3.3.0
Virtual Audio cable did not work  onto  a Winreduced Windows 10 v 2004  Home that wa s winreduced with WinReducer EX-100 - v2.3.3.0
Virtual Audio cable did not work  onto  a full Windowa 2004  home installed  O.S , so the problem is not WinReducer EX-100 - v2.3.3.0,
But  the  Virtual Audio cable  program  that is no longer compatible with the new windows.
I have sent a message to the author  of  Virtual Audio cable

Hi guys
I investigatrd the problem  with the  Virtual Audio cable again
In Windows 1909  & probably below the imput clock in the Audio repeater rated exactly  100 Mhz with 500 buffers & 12 buffer parts,
Output not selected, no clock
Result Super Audio.
In Windows 2004 there are a lot of overflows & underflows  in the Audio repeater ,with the same settings as In Windows 1909,
input clock rate fluctuating over 100 Mhz up to over 104  Mhz , overflows

No audio & video programs opened , no wave out selected in Audio reoeater,
ouput clock rate fluctuating from under 100 Mhz to  94  Mhz , underflows

Alot of big noise  was the result
I augmented  to 1000 buffers & 20 buffer parts, under & overflows went away,
But  input clock rate fluctuating over 100 Mhz
output clock rate fluctuating under 100 Mhz
Alot of big noise  was was still there

Maybe Windows 2004  code was changed & the Virtual Audio cable is no longer compatible.
But I think rather this is is a serious bug in Windowd 2004, future will tell us.

Hello icy007 Smile

Very technical and very interesting ... have you checked if your sound card driver have been updated ? Have you tried with an older sound card driver ? I'm asking you this, because I have the same trouble with my Realtek integrated chip sound but with Windows 10 v19H1 and the latest drivers : if I want to record sound from the realtek sound card I have a lot of background noise which I didn't have with all previous drivers.

Hi Winterstorm

I do not use asio, if You do then that could be the problem, I have no problem at all with Windows v 1909, just with v 2004
My system is like below :
AIMP or Deezer or Spotify  as source
From above  > communication Virtual Audio Cable > Stereo Tool  >  Sonar XDHV Soundcard  > Ampli
There were problems  between  Stereo Tool  &  Sonar XDHV Soundcard , so for years i did not use Asio
and my Audio is fantastic

Do You have the last vetsion of Virtual audio cable, it should be v 4.62

Hi Winterstorm

Start  the Audio repeater , if  the clock is exactly  100 Mhz   and stable
and there are no over or underflows,  then your system should work perfectly
without asio

I do not use Virtual audio cable, I just described a new issue with Windows 10 and audio drivers ... but for my case I do not have explanation maybe it will be solved with 20H1.

Hi Winterstorm

I can send You Virtual Audio cable
Is should work with any soundcard.,
Then You can see if  the clock is correct and under é overflow are zero

Hi Winterstorm

I think the problem of sound  with win 10 v1909 is different  from Windows 10 v 2004
You are worhing with the Microsoft Sound Mapper - Input  (MME)
I Am working  with Line 1 ( virtual Audio Cable ) (MME)
If I switch onto the Microsoft Sound Mapper - Input  (MME), then the Audio Quality is also bad

Diagnosing Windows 10 audio glitching and delays

In this particular case, these audio issues can be traced back to a newish feature in Windows 10, known as hardware-accelerated audio. While in principal hardware acceleration of audio and video can result in far-better performance than software-accelerated audio/video playback, if not perfectly implemented it can cause some severe problems and side effects. In this case, enabling Windows 10 hardware acceleration for audio playback induces latency and delays in setting up the hardware acceleration and beginning playback of hardware-accelerated audio.
Mayby hardware acceleration of audio and video  can be a cause
There is hardware for audio & video onto my AMD video card & I have  a xonar soundcard

Hello icy007 Smile

Finally, I managed to solve my issue by downgrading to a previous sound card driver : so the new drivers are not working correctly in my system (winreduced or not) !

Hi Winterstorm

I made a new iso with Windows 2004H1 Home & WinReducer EX-100 - v2.3.7.0
No updates or drivers installed , no internet , no WinSxS or iso cleaning
Same result over & underflows.
This does not happen with windows v1909.
So ,Conclusion,??  bug, faulty programming

Hi Winterstorm

I made a new iso compilation to be sure that i made no mistakes
I  installed Virtual audio cable , no other programs installed,
result  under & overflows.
So i looked around and around and found  VB-Cable Virtual Audio Device onto this site : [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
So I did a very basic setup and at first test it seems to work with  Windows 10 v2004
The principe seems to be very different from the former Virtual Audio Cable
So my conclusion is that Microsoft changed microcode so that  Virtual Audio Cable is no longer compatible with Win 10 v2004
VB-Cable Virtual Audio Devic is free software, so  everybody can use it and this seems to ba a lot better tham

Microsoft"s driver

I am going to install evering and  all my audio settings
If everythings works ok then You can close end of next week this topic

Hello icy007 Smile

I updated my sound card drivers with a more recent one, and the problem seems to be solved. I do not have more explanations : a faulty driver maybe.
