Hello,

first I would thank you for your great piece of software. I use it since the final v1703 came out. I learned a lot by trial and error and reading in the forum.

To my problem: I try to enable/ integrate "Net Framework 3.5". I enabled the "Feature" and integrated it under ""System" - "Integrate - Net Framework 3.5". But after the Windows installation (in VirtualBox) it isn't enabled/ installed. It pops up the Feature window for "Net Framework 3.5", when I open a program. What I'm doing wrong?

First thought: Try without removing any of the following
Features - Windows PowerShell
Remove - Modern UI Apps - Framework (Advertising SDK)
Remove - Modern UI Apps - Framework (Chat)
Remove - Modern UI Apps - Framework (Contact)

Could you please try this procedure (because there seems to be a trouble in the file detection or a file mismatch) :

1 - download and use an official Windows 10 x64 v1909 (if it's not already done) (links are available here : [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] (choose first link)

2 - before opening this ISO, check the folder "..\WinReducerEX100\WORK\INTEGRATE\UPDATES\Framework35\x64" if you see 2 files named :
- 19H2_microsoft-windows-netfx3-ondemand-package.cab
- 19H2_microsoft-windows-netfx3-ondemand-package-de-DE.cab
==> if you see also the same files with an "RS6_" prefix : delete them too !

3 - delete these 2 files

4 - mount your ISO (it will automatically copy those 2 files from your ISO in the correct EX-100 folder)

5 - once your ISO is mounted :
- click on the button : "Clear Settings"
- go to "System" tab : do as usual to activate "Framework 3.5" and "Updates" (by using the "..." buttons)
- go to  "FINISH" tab : then go to "ISO File Creator - Optimizations" tab and activate these options "ISO - Delete Unneeded Files" and "ISO - Windows - Delete Unneeded Editions" (it will remove all other edition in your ISO, because the Framework 3.5 and all updates integration are dependent to the edition you mounted)

6 - then use "APPLY" button

7 - create your ISO

8 - and test this new ISO as usual

9 - Please, let us know.

Hello,

I followed your steps, but sadly it still doesn't work (for me). The Feature window still pops up, if I start the program. Sad

Of course I enabled "Net Framework 3.5" (Selected="true" Value="1") under the "Features" tab.

I just tried with a 19h2 pro iso (french) and it worked without troubles with your wccf.

Could you please provide me the exact name of your iso in order to try ... and your windows edition ?

In the meantime, once your iso is installed could you please check this :

Even if it's in french, the procedure is the same, this is just to confirm of the "features" net framework 3.5 is enabled in windows. In your computer, it should look like the third screenshot (black checkbox for net framework 3.5).

Please let me know the result.

I use the ISO "Win10_1909_German_x64.iso". Windows Edition [Windows 10.0 Home (x64) (de-DE)], Windows Build [10.0.18363.418 (19h2_release)].

I even tried this german ISO as a Professional Edition. After that I downloaded the "Win10_1909_EnglishInternational_x64.iso" and tried it as Home AND Professional Edition. But with both ISOs (Home AND Pro), it doesn't work for me. The black checkbox for net framework 3.5 is never activated. Sad

thank you very much for the help. But in my latest tests I didn't remove any features or items. I tried it just with integrating Net FW 3.5 (see my last WinReducerEX100.wccf). Smile

I think, I found the culprit. Since months I use the program StopUpdates10 to (mainly) prevent the upgrades on my host/ building system (Windows 10 v1709 x64). I disabled it (which enable the Windows Update again) and started the same WinReducer session. And voila... after installing and booting the ISO in VirtualBox, the black checkbox for Net FW 3.5 was activated. The program started without problems accordingly. It even works with my first, slimmed .wccf. Smile

Could you confirm, that the Windows Update Service(s) are necessary for these tasks on the host/ building system for WinReducer? In the settings of this program there are the following processes and services listet, which are/can be blocked (screenshots show the default values):

I'm very sorry for the trouble. In the end it hasn't anything to do with WinReducer or the ISOs of course. At the moment I'm just happy, that I found the (very) specific problem. Sorry again for taking your time. Thank you for your help and the patience.

There is no need to stop Automatic Windows Updates with an external program
Remove :
 Services Delivery Optimization Service  
  Services Update Orchestrator Service   
  Services Windows Update Medic Service    
  and automatic updates will stop
  
  Do not remove   
in Accessories :Windows Features
in  Services :Windows Update Service 
Drivers and not cumulative updates will always be installed  at first boot and later if new are available
Depending onto what is removed in your iso,Cumulative Updates could be installed,
BUT Most of the time they will not install,
So integrate Updates into Your iso

About your question, it depends on how you integrate net framework 3.5 : online or offline =
- online : the net framework 3.5 sources are downloaded and integrated from MS server
- offline : the net framework 3.5 sources are integrated using a local folder (method used by WinReducer)
