[EX-100 - 2.2.1.1 64bit] [1903 - v10.0.18362.356] Display Policy Service - breaks Night Light

Services - Display Policy Service
No errors, but once removed, Night Light will lose functionality, Night-Light's On/Off Switch will do nothing.

Please note,
If service is disabled + reboot, Night-Light remains fully functional.
If service is removed with WinReducer EX100-2.2.1.1 x64 - it becomes non-functional.

Similar impact when removing Windows-Sidebar:

Use EX-100-2.3 64bit streamlined windows10 home x64 1909。
The Home version system does not have a Display Policy Service. Experiments have shown nothing to do with this service.
Keeping Windows-Sidebar did not solve the problem.
On windows10 home x64 1909, I only encountered the problem of Night Light, and others found no exceptions.

I am experiencing the same on 19H2 (EX-100 - v2.3.0.0) if I try to disable "Connected Devices Platform service" (and I suppose also "Connected Devices Platform user service") which results in night light button greyed out. There have been many user reports about the service using too much disk space and causing sluggish performance on some computers. Is known to spark a lot of errors in the Windows Event Log. One of these errors was the "Error 7023".
The only way to stop it running is to disable it. It should be Xbox/SmartGlass related and may be some bluetooth, but it seems to involve also Night Light.
Winterstorm may want to see if it is possible to remove the xbox related part and keep required bluetooth and night light mode functionalities.

Excellent icy007! Did you checked if those apps consume (at least) no more than the same resources consumed from the built in Night Light mode?
For sure they offer much more customizations (although I doubt I will ever need such customizations, the default ones on Windows are more than enough) , but I am afraid at the expense of system resources.
It would be very nice if we can fully remove the connected device platform service and Display Policy Service. Did you experienced any breakage other than Night Light mode?
There is also the  DisplayEnhancementService to keep in mind. Without it the slider to adjust brightness is greyed out and, from what I see, these apps can't handle this.
Many thanks icy

Using flux is different, and it is obvious when browsing text pages.

Yes, it's a gadget that consume resources for nothing. Just set dark mode in WR and we are fine. Today we all use dark mode for the sanity of eyes.
Icy, since you are an expert in dark mode...
I can hope that the final steps of my final and definitive custom iso will come soon and one these steps is the theme tab.

I like so much Arc Dark theme for Windows 10, but the author seems to have abandoned its development (last version is 1903 and on 1909 only work at half):

What you use for theming?

And you're not wrong at all to avoid custom themes because you save yourself from bad headaches. Never try custom themes because if you do it will be hard to come back to default windows themes!
