I used Ex-100 v2.1.8.0 and an RS6 (1903) image of Windows 10.

I did not set any ERPERT options. But it creates [CENSORED]. Sorry for that word but it is exactly what is coming out.

By using the Setup image that Ex-100 creates, and after formating the drive + Coppy the files, its restarting the PC.
Than Windows is setup the devices. While this is in progress, a commando line window (cmd.exe) is coming up sudently and is runing dism loading an image. I guess this part is made by ex-100 and quit normal. But it doesnt finish this thing. When dism has loading 62% of the image, windows has done installing the drivers and causes a restart.

Right after the Windows Setup is done, u have a corrupt OS, with a non working taskbar, notification center, and startmenu, and SFC finds issues that cannot be fixed.

Also if u set the user library folders in Ex-100 it works totaly well with each folder exept the desktop folder. I moved everything to the D partiton, and the folders were existing there of course. So after the windows setup was done, the library folders were correct set and linked, but the existing desktop folder with all my files and folders was just overwritten and everything was gone!

Here the used RS6 1903 image I have used

Try NOT removing the following and see if it helps
do not remove Dot Net functions and services
do not remove Media player
and take special care on services:
do not remove COM+ services
do not remove ActiveX services

If it still fails, keep all services default and progress from there.

Hi djatcan,

first of all thank you for your ticket! Yes it is true, that WinReducer has some errors left with the latest Windows version 1903, but this is natural because the new version changed quite a lot and winterstorm needs some time to adapt. Smile

Concerning your problem:
- I downloaded your *.wccf and found out that you activated: Element Category="Unattended" Name="WinSXS DISM Cleanup" Selected="true" and Element Category="Unattended" Name="WinSXS DISM Cleanup (ResetBase)" Selected="true". Those are the two command lines you see during the windows setup. Please deactivate them as you do not really need them. This should resolve your trouble. If it does not, please deactivate the whole Unattended section.

Best regards,
Markus

Hey, Neo, and Hey Markus.

Thank u for ur quick replay.

Im a bit carefull for now, as Markus said, there are many known bugs and issues with the latest version of WinreducerEx100. I ll be waiting for future version of the software and removing the the 2 unattended cleanup options, before I ll try it again.

Also the Winreducer software interface has a dramatic bug. If u hover a drope&down menu that is actually closed but while u are using ur scrollwheel to scroll up or down the page, than it just changes setting in those closed and even the non set drope&down menu's . That should really be fixed, and the WinSXS Cleanup should be marked as EXPERT option also, until this bug has been fixed. I d like to use this option to keep my OS small, so hope its gonna be fixed soon, cuz the only thing that supposed to do is, to prevent the setup routine from killing dism before its done!

Hi djatcan,

it is actually not so much the fault of WinReducer, but the issues of Windows itself which are causing many troubles. And concerning your WinSXS cleanup - you should always be very carefull with the WinSXS components as they can cause much trouble! If you want to contribute you can be of help by testing your wccf but only with the unattended tab deactivated and let us know afterwards. Smile Thank you in advance.

Best regards,
Markus

Hi djatcan

What hauser.markus says about WinSXS cleanup is correct,
I never do a WinSXS cleanup, you can do it afterwards with
Windows 10 Tweaker or Dism++
Up to now I only got 1 bug when rightclicking onto This PC icon
So i deleted this in my compilation and start Fileexplorer now via Start
For the rest everything seems ok, i still have a lot of programs to
install to be sure it is really OK

I think You deleted essential code in your compilation

I did not delete anything else or Essential Code. I only used the Image and the settings I have linked on the Start post. Thats it!

Hi  djatcan

Something must be wrong , so You need to figure out what is gpoing on.

The only Windows Directories that are save to move elsewhere are :
See Avanced System Settings > Environment Variables > only Tempory Paths
and  Path Temporary Internet Files

I gave You some advices, It is up to You to figure it out

But what should be unsafe by moving labrary folders like Desktop and Downloads. Even under Windows u can use build in options by M$ to move and change them. Its just a bug by the Winreducer Software that something goes wrong by changing the Desktop path, cuz if u do it right under Windows OS it works well.

Hi Djatkan
Moving Downloads can be done in IE and does not give prblems
Desktop is another question as You can have many of them in Windows 10
I do not know if this is a bug into Winreducer, with my experience i should never have it included into Winreducer,
But this is Winterstorm's decicision
I have been doing it years ago with Windows 2000 and XP,I made registies for it, it was no problem
Starting with Windows7 there were a lot of problems, more than half of the installed programs did not work correctly
when moving Program Files &  Program Files (x86) to D: , so I stopped moving directories.
It is better to start simple things in Winreducer and see what works, after some time You will be able to make
working isos ,I gave You some advice , why not try it that way ?

I didnt move Programm files, only labrary folders. And it makes  o sense to change a download folder in the IE cuz I use many explorer and other Apps that using the download folder, that it makes sense to move it global. And as I told u, if I use the Windows board settings to change to Desktop folder, there is  o issue at all and has also never been since Windows Vista. Its only has that bug if I do it by Winreducer and only effects the Desktop folder

Hi Djatcan
The Download Folder is not a problem,You can move it any time in IE
Library Folders are complex, it is not save to move them
Desktop became a complex item with virtual Desktops,do not move it,i think it is not a Winreducer problem.
If You are the only user then You can move History,Cookies,My Documents, Pictures,Music,Video.
The rest i should not,but You can try,

U are wrong. Once again there even official ways under the Windows OS to move them to different paths. Look at the folder propeties. U can find it there in each Windows since Vista. I install hundrets of PCs and Notebooks a year and I change the paths of each llibrary folder by the official Microsoft way with nö negative effects ever on this 1000 devices over the last years. Not even the Desktop folder, and it makes no sense to make a change right in the IE that nobody uses actually cuz there a many apps using the global system path for the download folder

Its the first time I have trouble with moving a llibrary folder and it only effected the Desktop folder and only by Winreducer settings so please dont make that thing such a big deal when it is even official and allowed by MS and they even offer a simple and official setting

No, u just feeling pissed cuz I said u are wrong and now u mean u supposed to be sarcarstic. M$ would not inplement an official option to move the library folder paths if that what such a big deal as u try to make me believing that. Once again. Look at each library folder properties. And really, please quit this discussion. It makes really no sense at all to go ahead here at this point.
