Hi


We use WInreducer to edit our iso files and to remove some features that we do not need in the business area (like Games, Xbox, OneDrive, Cortana, Microsoft Support stuff, etc.).
Unfortunately, we discovered that the search option in the taskbar is disabled. Is it related to cortana or has anyone an idea which option cause this problem?

Hi alex_alex,

thank you for your post! Yes it is true, that Cortana breaks the search functionality entierly, but there are also some tweaks which I personaly think could cause the trouble you describe:
- Element Category="Tweaks" Name="Taskbar - Disable Search Icon" Selected="true" is the most likley - If you have activated it, please deactivate it and try again.
- Also you should activate: Element Category="Presets" Name="Protect Windows Search" Selected="true"

Hi, removing Cortana will break search option.
