[EX-100 - v2.1.4.0] [RS5 Build 1809 x64] Media Player not installed properly / webcam not working

Hello winterstorm2050,

I created a new ISO with latest winreducer and noticed 2 things:

1) when I use Media Player it tells me that it has not been installed properly
2) my webcam doesn't work inany app but is recognized by the system. I thought it was something related to privacy but even anabling everything nothing changes

I am trying to create another ISO now, will see if something changes!

edit: new build without disabling "camera" in the privacy section and now my webcam works.. Media player wasn't working so I completely removed it, I will use VLC

I also noticed that I need to press WIN + P several times before the screen casting options appear. I press it once and the mouse pointer has the "loading circle", then I keep on pressing WIN + P until the options pop up..

Also, can't install iTunes from windows store, it only works if I download the installer from the site..

Hi @winterstorm2050, I tried using latest 1903 build (it_windows_10_consumer_editions_version_1903_x64_dvd_218809d4) and your latest 2.1.7.0, but the problems I mentioned persist. Plus, I cannot open the start menu now (I am using VMware Player), I click on the windows icon and nothing happens, even from the keyboard the start menu doesn't open..

Some screenrecorders are not working because directX is missing in some compilations,
so try to install directX and mayby it will work

Hello carlese!

I downloaded your *.wccf and I noticed that you enabled some tweaks in the privacy section. Please disable all of them for starters. Also I would recommend to disable the changes you made in the services section aswell as the expert deep cleanup tweak. Can you do that and report back?

Scratch that. Please try to deselect "" first and report back. This should solve the Wecam problem.

Concerning your Media Player I guess it is related to your privacy settings and the services.

Unfortunately Media Player is still failing to start.. I defaulted all the services except the one regarding telemetry (disabled) but still no luck..

Hi Carlese!

I am glad to hear that your Webcam problem seems to be solved!

Concerning Windows Media Player. I have diged in my old topics and found out that the service telemetry, aswell as the option network telemetry caused various problems with my windows features (e.g. Windows Media Player etc.). So can you please create a new ISO with those 2 components deselected?

I selected only the metro apps removal and the tweaks and now Media Player is working.. The only strange thing is that now when I go to settings --> apps, it opens the windows and closes immediately, then after some time (maybe even 5 minutes) it opens normally.. Any idea?

II think all your problems come from your  .wccf file
I gave the advice below to  Jeronim0 also :

RULES !!
If there is a new version of Winreducer,NEVER use  any.wccf from another versiob as this gives always problems
1 in your first compilation use 
Unattended +  Keyboards +  Languages  see if it compilates and works, it should work, if not look at your presets,
do not protect updates as the isos will be very big
2 process  Features  with what is left in the directory you compiled
if iso not working ,delete everyting in this directory and use winrar co copy the former iso that was working into
the directory ti winreduse
3 do the same procedure for every item one by one  as in "2" for Remover :  Accessories , Control Panels , Drivers , Fonts ;
In Font Consolas & Segoe  is needed , Multimedia ,Network,be carefull with Privacy as things may not work;
be carefull with Settings as items may not be visible or deleted , themes & tweaks.
Do this also for Services 
Do not use Expert Optimations
TILL IT WORKS,it should work at the end and yes it will cost you a lot of work and mayby
some headaches

Hi Icy, thanks for the advice but I always use the same wccf since ages and I was always able to find the problem.. I think @winterstorm2050 could check my log and maybe come up with some ideas I will continue to try different solutions..

Trust me as i tell you it is your .wccf file
In each new Winreducer version there are changes,
the amount of items changes in each versions
In the last version i had 1217 items processed and everything is working.
so listen to me, it will work.
Winterstorm has a lot to do and he only will look for special cases

Well, I just found out that this happens on an untouched 1903 ISO as well, so it's not a winreducer problem

For Media Player, I think "gracenote" is responsible for the crash.. I still have to figure out how to remove the office tile, it's the only "bug" left On previous windows releases it was removed so maybe something changed in the structure..

You are just guessing around Carlese.
IYou need to start with a fresh original iso from Microsoft and do not use an existing .wccf file as never,never You will get a workable iso,
If you do not take my advice seriously You will never succeed in making an error free winreduced iso .

Hi Icy, thanks for your suggestions but it's not the first time I'm around on this forum. I agree, sometimes I have to guess and try multiple times to find a solution, but as of now I have a fully working ISO with everything I need. I want to check if Gracenote is the problem not for me, but for winterstorm so he can fix it and improve his software. I believe this is the purpose of an active community, I try to helpe when and where I can

I'll report back if I find something interesting..

For the settings --> apps, as I said it's a windowd bug that will be fixed with a cumulative update I guess..

@winterstorm2050 even though I removed everything related to game DVR and game bar, when I press the central button on my xbox one controller it asks me to download an app to manage ms-gamingoverlay..

Honestly, I'm not using such functionalities ... you know that I'm using an extremely light operating system

But, as far as I know :
- first, it should be tested
- second, all these options are linked to the game bar, so potentially (but not sure) there should be an impact somehow
