[SOLVED] [EX-100 - v1.9.4.0] [Build 16299.15] Delete unnecessary files not working

Hi @winterstorm2050, I saw some posts asking how to make an iso that could work also directly from inside windows and not only from boot (upgrade), and you told to deselect "delete unnecessary files" in the last tab of winreducer. I deselected it but still I cannot have a working iso in windows. If i select to create an ISO, setup.exe is always missing, and if I select to create a WIM file and transfer all the files to an ISO (including an untouched setup.exe) it give me an error "the autorun.dll could not be loaded or is corrupt [0x7E]). How can I solve it? Thanks!

By the way when I loaded this, even though i deselected "delete unnecessary files" it was still selected and I had to select it again, maybe it helps!

If I may add something, when mounting the reduced ISO with vmware, it never recognizes my windows build, while if I mount the untouched ISO it finds "Windows 10" as system type..

did you try to edit the wccf file and set it to "false"  and load it?

I will try but i hope winterstorm fixes it because even if it's deactivated it doesn't create a working iso under windows..

Another thing I noticed (this happens with all the builds) is that i load the preset in the first screen, then i go in the page where i select the components to protect, and the second option from the top (i don't have my pc here now) is never active even if I select it everytime..

you probably mean AutoRemove_ISO" and the "AutoRemove_EXPERT and i already mentioned it here:

It will not be fixed in v1.9.5.0 (available Wednesday 20 November 2017) ... but in v1.9.6.0 or v1.9.7.0

So, windows created with winreducer won't work in windows till we get a new winreducer build.. Ok I think I'll wait

@wintrerstorm2050 will we see a working iso under windows with build 1.9.6.0? Pleeeeeeaseee

Setup.exe is not there even with 1.9.6.0.. So not fixed yet

I will into this in the next build ... but in the meantime you could try this, mount your iso, load your wccf, go to "FINISH" tab, then "Optimizations" tab and uncheck "ISO - Delete Uneeded Files" like in the picture :

Actually that's one of the "bugs" (post #3).. I deselect it and when the wccf is saved it is selected again. This happens also on other toggles, like KrX said:

Really hope to see the bugs in the last post fixed in 1.9.7.0.. Guess I'll have to wait 1-2 days and find out

Hi @winterstorm2050, unfortunately this is NOT SOLVED.. I used winreducer deselecting "delete unneeded files" but when I create the ISO, no "setup.exe" file is there, and even if I take it from my untouched ISO it still gives me the errors above.. Please have a look at it

Have you activated "Presets - Automatic Removing Process (Optimize ISO Size)" ?

If yes, so this is normal that the "setup.exe" was removed .. because all components in "Presets" tab will bypass (which is also the purpose of the "Automatic Removing" components) all your components selection (in order to help you automatically protect or remove dependent components).

P.S. : I tested your preset by not selecting "Presets - Automatic Removing Process (Optimize ISO Size)" and "Presets - Automatic Removing Process (Expert Optimization)" ... and "setup.exe" was successfully kept
