I am trying to install Forza Motorsport 6: Apex from the Windows Store. But I'm always getting the error code 0x80073CF9

Furthermore, I can't log into the Microsoft account. Every time I try, the window pops up for half a second and disappears.

I did try other solutions suggested on the internet, like creating the folders C:\Windows\AppReadiness and C:\Windows\AUInstallAgent and deleting C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution

The build-in apps like Store, Photos, etc. update fine.

Well, these presets don't do anything special, do they? They just disable the components that are known to break these features. Comparing them, the only ones that get disabled that I use are USB Video and Webcam Experience. (And that's just for ModernUI Apps, protect MS Online account changes nothing)

Anyway. I use a slighty different wccf for my laptop, with these features enabled (it's basically the same configuration, just with webcam and printer stuff enabled) and it doesn't work there, either.

So, the problem persists with EX-100 - v0.9.7.0 and RS1 Build 14393.321.

I also enabled protect MS Online account and ModernUI Apps. Didn't change a thing. I still can't log into any Microsoft account or download stuff from the store. I also don't see which component could cause this. Any leads?

I've tried with your wccf, and I'm able to connect to my ms account without troubles (but I do not tried to install store games).

Try to protect Windows update. Please let me know.

Sorry to resurrect this topic, but the problem persists.

With the latest version of WinReducer (WinReducer EX-100 - v1.0.0.0), I still have problems.

I can log into my Microsoft Account just fine, but when I click on any application on the Windows Store, the Store app just closes. The app also closes if I type anything into the search bar. Furthermore, If I sideload Forza Horizon 3 via Powershell "Add-AppxPackage -register "%GAMEDIR%\AppxManifest.xml"", and then launch it, it just closes just like the Windows Store.

The last WinReducer version that I can confirm didn't have these issues was 0.9.8.5.0. Every version I tried after that has these problems while using the exact same preset.

Enabling "Protect ModernUI Apps", "Protect MS Online Account" and "Protect Windows Update" doesn't help.


I tried taking a closer look at the problem as it's happening right now with WinReducer EX 10 1.0:

The eventlog had little in it, the only thing notable is a complaint about Volume Shadow Service.

I also took a closer look with Process Explorer. Here are some logs:

This one is with Windows Store already open. I'm basically just clicking on an app on the start screen of the store and then the store app closes:

And this one starts with opening the store app first:

Here's also what happens when I try to launch Forza:

Maybe anything here is notable. Maybe permission issues?

Hi,
I try to reproduce your pb with a Windows 10 pro french version Under VMware
so I need to add the VMware protection as you remove almost all storage drivers
I work perfect with my Microsoft account.
I just notice the the V1.0.0. add the "Hyper-V - Controller", your .wccf was trying to remove it.

I assume that does help you too much but at least I try

So.. for 1.7.5.0, everything works fine again. Store doesn't crash, all UWP apps work, etc. all with an unchanged wccf. Thanks for the intentional or unintentional fix, I hope it won't break again!

It's broken again with 1.8.2.0 and RS2.
