hi guys. I'm trying to understand why start button doesn't work, this is my preset: Hybrid alpha 1.1

hi its probably the windows firewall service which you disabled

in some builds it creates an loop during installation and in some other it breaks the taskbar

I had this issue but fixed it by installing [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Once installed,  enable the search and  custom start button, it  seems to fix a lot of issues I was having.

Let me know if it works for you?

Also, Winterstorm,,,,,,,,,,,the save presets is buggy. It does not clear the old settings. I save a preset then go back and look and some things that I just changed,to find out they were not been saved to the new  preset save.  Hope that makes sense?

It seems that if you save over a existing copy of a preset, that it will not save correctly, you have to rename the preset and make a new one....vs copy over an existing preset.

I've worked on the Firewall which broke the start menu and modern ui apps. So, the fix will be available in the new update, which will be released later today.

I've tried on TH2 and RS1 without troubles and a great stability. unfortunately, I do not have TH1 builds anymore. So if you experience trouble with TH1, please use the RS1 ISO which are freely available on the Microsoft servers.

All the bugs that are creating so many headaches are the RS1 build and so I've had to roll back to using the old TH1/2.  Just waiting for a stable realease of WREX100 to fix a lot of the major bugs.
