Hi guys!

My problem is not strictly related to WinReducer but this is the only forum where I can get some answers.
I was trying to customize my OS with new icons and when I changed folders icons in imageres.dll I obtained this:

[ANSWERED] Corrupted icons Win7 C164a625_o

You can see the white papers behind the new icon.

Eample 2.

[ANSWERED] Corrupted icons Win7 6b7c631c_o

Another icon and again white papers behind, but look at the last one...
This is a pdf file (I don't have a specific icon assigned to this filetype) with the system using the icon folder for it!

I used every kind of software (Restorator 2007, Resource Hacker, IcoFX); I have resetted Icons & Thumbnails Cache
with no luck.

Please, HELP!

just save it as i.e. "imageres.dll.txt"

ResHacker.exe -script ScriptFile

i.e.:

ResHacker.exe -script imageres.dll.txt

that will automatically replace the icons.

but i cant find in imageres or shell the white papaer icon  (is it a default icon or did you change that? )

but maybe this page helps you

Thanks for your help.
Microsoft guys think to be smart.
The want to help us identifying the content of a folder with those file icons.
Maybe there's a way but it's not the icons way...
just a Regedit tweak that disables the view of the content,
like disable thumbnails view for example.

After talking about thumbnails, I said wait a minute....
This is the solution:

Hello,

Thank you for the feedback ... because, you should be sure, that will help other users.

For the record, this "Folder Options" is implemented in WinReducer : ""Tweaks - Explorer - Disable Thumbnails File Icons" (with some others tweaks)

In my opinion, all experiences are good to share ... Smile

It's not the best solution; now I can't see pictures thumbnails anymore but I don't know what else to do...
Tell to the system what kind of thumbnails to show?
Uhmm... too much for Microsoft.
