hi,

that are some nice tests.
So in total (from your conclusion) using DISM is 30 minutes faster to integrate updates than with the newest version on winreducer ? thats a lot.

also because of your "OfflineServicing" Problem.

- where the some files left at the MOUNT folder ? i.e. EXPERIMENTAL folder ?
- if not did you try deleting the unattanded.xml, maybe that cause your problem (maybe used spaces at Workgroup/username etc ? )

hello,

that's right (so far ± 30 minutes faster), but it's may be differ for other users ?

Correction for "OfflineServicing" Problem.
» Slimmingdown after Implement Updates first using WREX-70. v1.1.3.0 (DiSM also) caused:
     - *) Install Windows: Windows could not apply unattend settings during pass [offlineServicing]
     - Generating information about all packages: Error: 3
The directory \%MOUNTDiR%\Windows does not appear to be a valid Windows directory.
Ensure that the /WinDir option that is specified is valid.
For more information, refer to the help by running DISM.exe /WinDir /?.
     - EXPERiMENTAL Work Folder Not Cleanup :
       All Updates #1: 38.0 MB [200 Files, 99 Folders]
       All Updates #2: 13.9 MB [182 Files, 99 Folders]
       (*WinReducer EX-70 - v1.1.3.0 Screenshot Corrected)
   ...
» i'd allready try deleting the unattanded.xml in iSO image, thats not the cause ???

Code:

<Element Category="Unattended" Name="Work Group Name" Selected="true" Value="WORKGROUP" />
<Element Category="Unattended" Name="User Account Name" Selected="true" Value="home7ech" Group="Administrators" />

Hello,

Wonderful post, with plenty of interesting information. Thank you very much !

For your DISM integration, are you using : "/ScratchDir" ?

descriptionCompared Integrate Updates using WinReducer EX-70 and with DiSM Manually ! EmptyRe: Compared Integrate Updates using WinReducer EX-70 and with DiSM Manually !

Yes i did, here is the code (thanks to theKramer):

Code:

DiSM /Mount-Image /ImageFile:"%WiMFiLE%" /Index:1 /MountDir:"%MOUNT%"
DiSM /Image:"%MOUNT%" /Add-Package /PackagePath:"%UPDATES%" /ScratchDir:"%SCRATCH%" > "%LOGFiLE%"
DiSM /Commit-Image /MountDir:"%MOUNT%" /CheckIntegrity
DiSM /Unmount-Image /MountDir:"%MOUNT%" /Discard

REM ... Optimizing WiMFiLE with "WimLib.v1.8.2-BETA1" ! ...
wimlib-imagex.exe export "%WiMFiLE1%" 1 "%WiMFiLE2%" --check --compress=LZX >NUL

for more detail about the cmd code "clik here"
url: "http://pasted.co/665ea5f8"

Hey Winter, i've question.
Why you used imagex.exe (discontiued) than wimlib-imagex.exe  Question

Thanks in advance for your help and hard works  Idea

@home7ech

Greetings!

I am new to WinReducer (TY winterstorm2050 !), and have read most of your posts: tyvm for all the tips and testing you have done !

Like you I have a need to have WinUpdates to be totally functional, and have IE11 working like it should in a LITEST configuration. For me it is for use in a VirtualBox VM, then add Android emulators.

To be quite open, I am struggling with a lot of iso I have downloaded in the versions of 'tiny' and 'lite' and 'superlite' in recent weeks. I am looking at WinReducer, and thinking that your work is the most intensely explained.

Is your code at pasted [dot] co 665ea5f8  the only I have to worry about to make a suitable version of my own, for my specific need? using WREX7 1.0.10.0 (or ??)    I am wondering if you have made mods not yet posted?

I havent made friends w DISM or WIM yet, so it will be a challenge Sad   lol

In conclusion, (home7ech) you're saying that now WinRed7 is able to reduce an image with integrated updates?
Because before it was not so...

Hello guys,

I released an important update with v1.4.0.0, and another one with v1.4.5.0 which supports the EX-70 Updates Catalog (some updates are missing, especially all "Optional" ones, but I will add them for the June Tuesday Patch.

You are also able to integrate SP1.

here's my tests result: "EX-70.v1.6.1.0 - open folder (mount) crashes" and get error mesagges:
Microsoft .NET Framework
...Unexpected end of file while parsing Name has occured. Line 647, position 79.
Screenshot :

i also try to apply install.wim before EX-70 using Imagex.exe (v10.0.10011.16384) and get (WARN) messages below:

ImageX Tool for Windows :

then run up EX-70.v1.6.1.0, but still get the same error "open folder (mount) crashes" ?

Hello,

This seems to be a language file error.

Please update your language file to the latest available (you will find it in the EX-100 zip package), until I update EX-70.

Hi,

sorry for late respons,

not from a language file error but from "ei.cfg" file attributes 'Read-only'

Solved : Clear or change "ei.cfg" file 'attributes'

CODE : ATTRiB -R -A -S -H "%WiN7PATH%"\sources\ei.cfg >NUL
